Insulated units are a component part of any construction project.

  • The insulation provided by the gas filled cavity between the two panels in our units, provide a controlling barrier for heat and sound which, is second to none. Super Sealed has the first fully automated, jumbo sized sealing line in the UK, enabling us to provide a super high quality, consistent finish. Critically important for frameless glass or toggle.

  • Double Glazed Units can be made to an infinite number of shapes, sizes and applications, used on building facades for insulated spaces. The technology creates an insulating panel trapping a gas, or air cavity, between two pieces of glass – these sheets of glass can be toughened or laminated depending on the application.

Sealed Units have become a highly technical product in recent years with the vast range of coatings improving insulation, solar control, noise reduction and even creating a self-cleaning glass; optimising appearance and reduce building heating costs.

LEAD WORK

We offer a wide range of leaded units made to meet customer requirements. We offer traditional and bespoke patterns with options to add antique and soldered leads. See ‘Types and Sizes’ for our range. (Make Types and sizes clickable to that page)

STAINED GLASS

Super Sealed can also provide the service to split and repair traditional leaded units. We also provide stained glass (coloured leads) as part of our service. Our customers add character to their units with creative designs. Our skilled team can make the required design for all customers.

GEORGIAN BARS

We offer a range of coloured Georgian bars, in different designs and thicknesses to feature in-between the panels of a double or triple glazed unit. See ‘Types and Sizes’ for our range.

INTERNAL DUPLEX BARS (BACK TO BACK):

Internal duplex bars are planted in between the double glazed unit which gives the effect of multiple panes of glass. These are available in a variety of different colours which give a superior range of heritage appearances. See ‘Types and Sizes’ for our range.

THERMAL INSULATION UNITS

As building regulations become ever more comprehensive, thermal performances are required within commercial, residential and public buildings.

Sealed Units have continued to move forward, as energy costs and environmental concerns continue to rise. Our high performance units have energy efficient low-emissivity glass, less convective argon gas in place of air inside them, and ‘warm-edge’ spacers of plastic composite as opposed to less thermally efficient metal.

  • Thermal insulation units as a result achieve better U-Value.

SOLAR GLASS UNITS

We manufacture Solar Glass double glazed units (DGU’s) to reduce heat gain within constructed buildings. 

This highly substantial product allows sunlight to pass through a façade and reflects excessive amount of heat away, allowing the building to remain cool from the inside.

The increased use of glass in architecture today makes it imperative to consider the comfort of a building’s occupants. Solar control glass can be an attractive feature of a building whilst at the same time minimising, or even eliminating the need for an air conditioning system, reducing running costs of the building and saving energy

  • In hot climates, solar control glass can be used to minimise solar heat gain and help control glare. In temperate regions, it can be used to balance solar control with high levels of natural light.

  • Solar control glass can be specified for any situation where excessive solar heat gain is likely to be an issue, eg. large facades, glass walkways, atria and conservatories.

  • All products are available in toughened or laminated form for safety and security requirements, and can be combined with other benefits such as noise control.

Our range of solar control glass covers most architectural requirements, which compromises for large and small units. With high light transmissions and low solar factors it still provides a neutral appearance. It also has a Lowe E performance.

ACOUSTIC SEALED UNIT

Noise originates from all around and quite simply is part of our modern life. From airplanes, railways and factories, noise can be a huge factor in our lives.

  • Super Sealed introduce sound proof DGU’s to prevent such noise from outside the building. This is achieved using laminated acoustic glass

  • We also carry stock sheets of Acoustic Glass, made with Float Glass, for those moments when glass is required urgently or for projects with a short lead time.

  • The glass is available in many sizes and can meet architectural requirements.

We can supply Acoustic Glass up to a maximum size of 6000mm x 3200mm. The glass panels can be float or toughened as required, and the Acoustic Glass can also be processed or glazed in house if required.

With an in house lamination machine we can make all thicknesses and make them sound proof with high levels of insulation.

FIRE RATED UNITS

The desire for natural light to penetrate deep into modern buildings has become the norm in architecture today. However, the safety of building users is paramount in the event of a fire, which dictates the need for compartmentation and escape routes in all buildings. Fire resistant glazing provide a transparent solution to provide from 30 to 180 minutes protection and meet the aesthetic feel on the building.

Fire Safety:

  • Natural light is a primary consideration in design and architecture today as it effects the senses and the well-being of a building’s occupants.

  • Architects are turning more and more to glass for exteriors and internal curtain walling as they transmit natural light further into buildings.

While energy performance can help to manage the environmental aspect, building regulations cannot be ignored. To provide maximum safety and to meet fire safety regulations, Fire Rated Glass provides critical resistance to fire for a defined period ranging from 30 to 120 minutes. It also prevents the spread of fire through a building and helps protect essential exits routes keeping them fire free for evacuation.

In the event of a fire the interlayers will absorb the heat and prevent the transmission of heat and increased temperatures therefor ensuring that fire escape paths are safe to pass through.

Fire Rated Glass is suitable for many different applications such as partitions, screens and doors. It can be used with a variety of frames and can also be used in insulated units.

Super Sealed Units stock Standard Fire Rated Glass and can cut panels to size.
