Spandrel
Glass spandrel panels are specifically designed as opaque panes to hide structural and integral elements of a building, which would otherwise inhibit the building aesthetics if visible. Glass spandrel panels are created by coating one side of annealed float glass with a coloured ceramic enamel frit, which is then fired into the glass surface. The final product is a thermally toughened glass with enamel coating permanently bonded into the glass surface.
